Be good to Yourself.

NOLA Massage, E-4305, was founded by Amy Nicole Stewart sometime after Hurricane Katrina. Amy has had interest in the healing arts, massage, and bodywork since childhood. She began her studies in Massage Therapy in 2000, finished school in 2002, and became Licensed in Louisiana in 2004. She is dedicated to giving the best massage and bodywork possible and enjoys continuing her education in order to do this. Having practiced continuously for 20 years she has learned a lot. She has also worked through many of her own injuries which gives her a unique perspective to bodywork and massage as she has experienced the benefits in her own body. Whether you book a session with her or one of the other talented licensed massage therapists who work with her, you are sure to learn of the lasting benefits of regular bodywork and massage in your life. When you sign up to work with NOLA Massage you also get tips in person and through newsletters to take with you along your journey of self-care.

The name NOLA Massage came about organically as Amy needed to find a name to call her practice. Amy used to travel with her massage chair and table around the country to special events, music festivals, and concerts and during Jazz Fest 2006 she learned she was in many people’s phone contacts as '“Amy NOLA Massage”. When deciding to name her practice she dropped her name and just kept NOLA Massage. Though it would be a few years before she would make a website and many more before she would actually register the business name and begin building a team. The practice has developed and grown with Amy over the years, she did begin studying professional massage at the age of 18, and there have been a lot of growing pains in the last twenty plus years. The most recent change has been the move uptown. Amy is happy to have found a home on Magazine Street and to have an incredible, though small, team to share her love for bodywork and natural healing with. She looks forward to growing more while in this space and enjoys training the people she works with to do many of the modalities she has spent so much time and money studying. Amy is also dedicating a lot more time to the study and practice of Lymphatic Drainage Massage and is studying the effects of it on conditions related to autoimmune disorders, inflammation, post operation for cancer as well as cosmetic surgery, and is learning and sharing as much information as possible. She has also recently been diagnosed with Lipedema which is both genetic and inflammatory and medical professionals are just now learning more about this. She is learning all she can in order to help herself and others because many of these problems are also linked to chronic pain. Book a session today to find out more for yourself. Go ahead, be good to yourself.
